Once we have learned of the Truth, and brought our lives into Righteousness, we should then bring that PEACE to others. As soldiers of Jesus Christ, we need to help save others from our common enemy, Satan. The only way to ultimately do this, is through the teaching of the gospel of peace. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When Paul the apostle made the analogy of the "Armour of God", he was referring to the Roman soldier's armour that helped to make them the best of their day. Their armour helped them to be victorious in battle and saved many of the soldier's lives. Having your feet shod refers to putting on some type of foot wear. The Roman soldier's foot wear was little different from most people of that time period, with one important exception. That exception is the hob-nail. Hob-nails were small metal studs. The Romans had figured out before others how to put these hob-nails into the soles of their heavy sandals, called Caligas, without the metal pushing up and into their feet. These hob-nails gave the soldiers superior traction in battle, and also made the Caliga very durable. The Roman soldiers were able to travel very long distances without their sandals wearing out. The hob-nails gave the soldiers superior footing and durability to last.
